All the hoopla regarding the Ultimate Fighting Championship event held at the White House is over – at least to some degree. This extraordinary event, unlikely to be repeated, was held in recognition of President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and the country’s 250th birthday, with the latter being more important to most people.
On Wednesday, June 17, a fireball was reported by 13 people across Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The fireball was first reported at 10:37 pm by a skywatcher in Charlotte, NC. It was seen as far north as Durham, NC, as far east as Myrtle Beach, SC, as far south as Pooler, GA, and as far west as Atlanta, GA. Other skywatchers in Georgia spotting the fireball were from Augusta, Metter, and Statham
A first reading of such an ordinance was held by the Pine Mountain Town Council during the regular June meeting. The ordinance was presented by then interim Police Chief Chris Nance, who has since become the police chief.

Election Official Called Out on Bad Behavior
“There is no place in the Harris County government or any other government in the US, to attempt to silence a voter.” Those strong words were offered by Becky Langston during last week’s Harris County Commission meeting regarding alleged behavior by a member of the Harris County Board of Elections.
Sunday was Father’s Day, and it got me to thinking about my dad, who left us in 2007. Dad was a pretty good fellow, all things considered. Like all fathers, he made a few mistakes while we kids grew up, but he made sure of one thing: my brother and I grew up to be gentlemen. And my sister grew up to be a lady. That was a non-negotiable part of our childhood; learning to do the right thing even when nobody was watching was another. I have to admit I fall short on that, as we all do, but Dad did his best. Happy Father’s Day, Dad, wherever you are. Now, on to the trivia!
