Town Considering Juvenile Curfew
A first reading of such an ordinance was held by the Pine Mountain Town Council during the regular June meeting.

Under the terms of the proposed curfew, unaccompanied juveniles will not be allowed to “remain, idle, wander, stroll, drive, or otherwise be present in or upon any public place or establishment” during the time of curfew. The curfew hours would be 11:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday through Thursday, and midnight until 6 am Friday and Saturday.
There are allowable exceptions to the curfew and those are available at Pine Mountain Town Hall during normal business hours.
Parents or guardians are being held responsible for violation of the curfew. The first offense results in a written warning, but after that monetary fines are assessed beginning at $100 and reaching $1,000.
A second reading of the ordinance with adoption could take place during the July meeting.
If the town council approves the curfew ordinance, Pine Mountain will join a growing list of cities and towns establishing such curfews.
