County Approves Water Filter Grant
The Harris County Commission has approved accepting a grant to deal with PFAS in the water system.
PFAS, or Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, are synthetic chemicals that have been used in consumer products since the 1950s. Totaling nearly 15,000 chemical compounds, PFAS were used in a wide variety of household products and in some firefighting foam used to smother fires.
Qualifying for Talbotton Special Election Will Begin on July 13th
Sharita Trice, chairperson of the Talbot County Board of Elections and Registration has announced a special election for the City of Talbotton is scheduled for November and qualifying for the election will begin on July 13.
Town Considering Juvenile Curfew
A first reading of such an ordinance was held by the Pine Mountain Town Council during the regular June meeting.
The ordinance was presented by then interim Police Chief Chris Nance, who has since become the police chief.
