A Greenville man is facing charges after a shooting incident that occurred in the Rocky Mount area on Sunday, June 21, according to Sheriff Chuck Smith. Horton, Mahone Sentenced

Zion Horton and Jaquan Mahone, residents of Talbot County, appeared in Muscogee County Superior Court on Tuesday, June 23 to be sentenced in the murder of Daryus Bryant of Manchester. Both were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

County Approves Water Filter Grant

The Harris County Commission has approved accepting a grant to deal with PFAS in the water system. PFAS, or Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, are synthetic chemicals that have been used in consumer products since the 1950s. Totaling nearly 15,000 chemical compounds, PFAS were used in a wide variety of household products and in some firefighting foam used to smother fires.

Town Considering Juvenile Curfew
