Louisiana Man Arrested in I-85 Road Rage Shooting

A Louisiana man was arrested last week after he fired multiple shots at vehicles traveling on Interstate 85 near Hogansville.
According to reports, the first incident took place Monday, July 13, around 11:35 a.m. when a man identified as Kyle Sylvester, Jr., of Louisiana, allegedly fired shots at another vehicle traveling northbound near Exit 28 on I-85. Another driver was injured by the gunshots and was taken for treatment to an area hospital.
Then the following day, Coweta County 911 reached out to Troup County 911 to inform them of a call they had received from a man claiming another person had fired gunshots at his car while he was traveling on I-85. That driver, who was not injured, followed the shooter until the suspect vehicle turned off onto Highway 29 near Grantville.
Grantville Police began a search for the suspect’s car, and were soon joined by Hogansville Police and Troup County Sheriff’s Deputies. Hogansville officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle inside the city limits and took Sylvester into custody without incident. Investigators determined that Sylvester was the shooter involved in both road rage incidents.
Sylvester was transported to the Troup County Jail to face charges connected with the shootings. Further information on the incidents was not available at press deadline.
