Commissioners Approve Lease Agreement for Police Vehicles
The Talbot County Board of Commissioners approved a lease agreement for a fleet of new vehicles for the Sheriff’s Office during its regular meeting held on Monday, July 6.
The board approved moving forward with a five-year lease financing package totaling approximately $304,244, with annual payments of $72,718.33 to provide the Sheriff’s Office with new vehicles.
The Talbot County Board of Commissioners approved a lease agreement for a fleet of new vehicles for the Sheriff’s Office during its regular meeting held on Monday, July 6.
The board approved moving forward with a five-year lease financing package totaling approximately $304,244, with annual payments of $72,718.33 to provide the Sheriff’s Office with new vehicles.
The board approved the lease of the vehicles with the stipulation that staff should include approximately $31,000 in the FY27 budget to help with the lease payments.
The board also heard concerns from a citizen about a drainage issue on Caylet Road that has been reoccurring for three years.
The resident noted that the issue affects more than just a ditch with a drainage issue, but has an impact on safety, property and the community.
The board was told even though road crews have cleaned the ditch of debris when heavy rainfall occurs, sand fills the ditch again. The resident noted that the culvert is clogged again after recent rains.
The resident was seeking a long-term solution to the problem.
The Board is looking into ways to address the issue.
