The original Star Trek introduced viewers to a variety of planets with many of the alien species being bipedal humanoids. This was due to a theory of an ancient star-faring civilization spreading humanoids on habitable planets.

Manchester’s mayor, council, staff, and those in attendance met at the Community Building June 9th in order to ensure there was enough seating for all. In addition to this measure being taken due to fire safety codes, Manchester’s first piece of business on the agenda addressed safety and security updates for the city.

The Warm Springs City Council voted June 8 to hike the city’s fine for not paying the required permit fee for having a yard sale in the city.

During a rare moment of “down time,” I found myself scanning the Internet for something to do. (Yes, there are rare moments when I have nothing on my plate and need to find something to keep my mind occupied.) While perusing the Web I came across a site asking “100 Getting To Know You Questions.” So I figured, what the heck? Let’s see how creative I can be with my answers.

This statue is part of the memorial that remembers the sacrifice of the “Charleston Nine” – nine firefighters who died battling the Charleston Sofa Super Store this week in 2007. Note the two inscriptions: one “Chas 9” on the helmet, and the date on the axe head.
