Verdict Expected This Week for Bryant Murder Suspects

A verdict of the three people accused of killing Manchester High star athlete Daryus Bryant is expected to come sometime this week after the jury couldn’t come to a conclusion on Friday, May 22 and reconvened on Tuesday, May 26. The verdict was not avaiable at press time of this newspaper.

Cool nighttime and early morning temperatures has allowed for some awesome star gazing. The planet Jupiter remains incredibly bright. To spot Jupiter, about 10:30 pm look just north of west, or for those with a compass along a heading of 283 degrees, and about 43 degrees above the horizon, and there is Jupiter. It is difficult to miss.

Manchester Residents Ask Council About How City Allocates Funds

Guest speakers Danis and Otis Bullard, owners of Fit 4 Life Fitness Center in Manchester, opened the city council meeting on May 12th with concerns. Mrs. Bullard stated that her and her husband love Manchester, but that there are so many buildings that are empty or being destroyed that they were unsure of how the city was allocating funds to help growth.

A bit of a news junkie, I periodically peruse foreign news sources for reports regarding the US. These sources can be quite insightful and forthcoming, often more so than domestic news sources with the added benefit of providing some indication of what foreigners are thinking about the US. Moreover, the ones I watch appear to still have some sense of integrity, something sadly lacking at most American networks.

A man who was shot outside Westside Villas apartments two weeks ago, died Friday morning at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.

Trial Begins in Bryant Murder

The murder trial of three people accused of killing Manchester High star athlete Daryus Bryant got underway last Monday and is still ongoing. It is believed the trial could take up to two weeks or more. Three Talbot County residents are facing charges of murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
