Victim in Westside Villa Apartments shooting dies 2 weeks later at hospital
A man who was shot outside Westside Villas apartments two weeks ago, died Friday morning at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.
FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A man who was shot at Westside Villas in Fort Valley two weeks ago has died.
According to Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks, Kalan Nathaniel Tharpe died at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon just before 11 a.m. on Friday. Rooks said Tharpe’s body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
On May 7, around 1:40 p.m. at an apartment complex on Brooks Boulevard, Fort Valley police found Tharpe suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to Fort Valley Police Chief David Wilson.
This case remains under active investigation, with the GBI assisting in the case. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Valley Police Department at (478) 825-3383.
