The Manchester Fire Department and Meriwether County Fire and Rescue were represented at the annual Firefighter Burn Foundation luncheon last week.
“Each year, the Manchester Fire Department spends countless hours standing in the roadway, asking citizens and motorists to help ‘fill the boot’ for the Georgia Firefighter’s Burn Foundation, said Manchester Fire Cheif Ben Williams.
“The funds donated helps to provide programs and camps for burn survivors.”
On Tuesday, May 5, Williams and Sgt. John Altman attended the 2025 Georgia Firefighter Burn Foundation luncheon and awards banquet help in Atlanta. The department made it’s annual donation and received recognition for the effort and help made to the Burn Foundation.
“We were also joined by the Meriwether County Fire Rescue Administrative Assistant, and newly hired GFBF Fire Department, liaison, Laura Bogolin” Williams said. “Laura shared her testimony of being a burn survivor herself and the impact the GFBF has played on her life.
“Fire crews will be out the rest of the month collecting funds for the 2026 fundraiser. Please consider donating by dropping money in the boot or dropping in off at the fire department, located at 234 West Perry Street.
“Every dollar that is donated is sent to the GFBF.”
