Sunnyside Community Club will be getting a new paint job thanks to a grant from The 1772 Foundation and The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The 105-year-old former school on Hopewell Church Road was last repainted in 2012.

According to grant manager and Sunnyside Treasurer Linda Straub, “the new paint and repairs will ensure Sunnyside’s continued use as a community meeting space.  Without proper maintenance, the 100-year old wood siding on the school will deteriorate and threaten the integrity of the whole building.”

Sunnyside will match the grant dollar for dollar.  Work should be completed by the fall.
