Sunnyside Community Club To Get New Paint Job

Sunnyside Community Club will be getting a new paint job thanks to a grant from The 1772 Foundation and The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The 105-year-old former school on Hopewell Church Road was last repainted in 2012.

Bus Driver’s Legacy of Kindness Continues to Feed Local Students

Family members of Teddy "Ray" Phillips join representatives from School Lunch Angels and New Mountain Hill Elementary Principal Mrs. Burnett during a check presentation honoring Ray's memory. Donations made in his honor eliminated the school's current lunch debt balance and will continue supporting students at New Mountain Hill Elementary in the future. His son Michael Phillips, great-granddaughter Ava Brookshire, wife- Mary Phillips, Son- Ricky Phillips, grand-daughter Maegan Phillips and great-granddaughter Adelynn Johnson.

40 Turn Out for Senior Fishing Event

Talbot County Sheriff Bobby Gates, Jr. hosted Talbot County’s first ever Senior Citizen Fishing Rodeo on May 30 at Heritage Park in Talbotton. There were over 40 participants that attended the joyous occasion. Some seniors came to fish, some came to fellowship, and some just came out to watch and enjoy.
