Pine Mountain Elected Officials Approve Huge Pay Increase

There was a bit of shock and awe during last week’s town council meeting in Pine Mountain. This developed when council members approved a pay raise for the mayor and council member positions. Such a pay raise had been previously discussed as it had remained the same for a very long time, but the amount was shocking.

A Peach County Student Resource Officer found a firearm in a student's vehicle during an investigation stemming from a separate disciplinary matter.

Hogansville City Council Allows Amazon Land Purchase

After approval of the consent agenda, the May 4th Hogansville City council meeting began with Police Chief Jeffrey Sheppard introducing Pastor Mike Reeves as the police department's second Chaplin. He will be working with head Chaplin George Bailey. Reeves has been a pastor for 31 years and presently pastors for the Open Range Cowboy Church in Mountville. "Preacher Mike", as Reeves likes to be called ,said he looks forward to serving the people of Hogansville.

CEHS Graduation May 22

Central Elementary-High School (CEHS) will hold graduation ceremonies for the 2026 graduates on Friday, May 22, according to Superintendent Jonathan Taylor. This year 26 students will participate in the commencement exercises.
