* Essentials For A Prosper 2026-2027 School Year! *

Greetings and blessings! To all of my fellow school colleagues, parents, students and readers. Once again, I’m profoundly grateful to welcome everyone back as we buckle-up for new school year 2026-2027. Pray you had a blessed and relaxing summer break. However, this article may seem directed to CEHS but actually to all school systems, families and myself also. So then, as a Talbot County school bus driver for 20 years, I always feel the need to address safety first and shed light from some of my personal experiences that might be of value. Of course, some were good and some not so good. So hopefully, I can encourage us once again to give it our all, even go far and beyond to make this the best school year yet. Certainly, it must be a combined relentless effort; yes, challenging but doable, we can make it happen. Safety is a key factor, especially for the dedicated bus drivers who have the incredible responsibility of transporting our students. We must first get them to school in order to learn. So, parents, please caution your children of the extreme danger of distractions and not following bus safety rules and guidelines. You see, regretfully we wait around until unfortunately, something really bad happens and then throw blame on anyone but ourselves. As parents and adults, we are held accountable to discipline and it’s our responsibility to “Train up our children [set examples] in the way to go [safely]…” (Proverbs 22:6). Simply teach them that Stop means Stop and No means No! With NO exceptions, not later but right now!
Furthermore, I’ve too often witnessed such a lack of respect and communication which is extremely essential in any and all we do. Parents know that our children are not always right, and neither are we. However, most problems can be solved if the right and decent approach is taken to sensibly deescalate and communicate. In fact, we can start by simply agreeing to disagree without going on the offense, being nasty and slanging mud [uncontrollable attitudes]. And work harder at being part of the solution instead of the problem. Again, with discipline; we are obedient and humble, we have and give respect. We control our tongue and our anger. More so, learn “to go high when others go low” and calm an escalating situation instead of putting fuel on the fire. But yet still, the ultimate and most important and main ingredient is Jesus. Without Him, these essentials cannot and will not work. But with Him, we can have a thriving successful school year and “…do all things through Christ Jesus. (See Philippians 4:13). So together, praise God, we can embrace these essential fundamentals values to make a profound impact and noticeable difference and have a very prosper and safe school year! Student’s tip: “Fail to plan, plan to fail!” May God give us grace for a blessed school year!
