The city of Perry will host its 7th annual Buzzard Drop New Year’s celebration event on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31.)

From 7-9p.m.. There will be live entertainment including DJ Mixmaster T and rock/soul band “Relapse.” The event is free to the public and will take place in historic downtown Perry.

A “Kiddie Countdown” will take place at 8 p.m., offering an interactive opportunity for families to celebrate New Year’s Eve together without having to stay out late.

Special events coordinator Anya Turpin says a diverse group of food and beverage vendors will be onsite as well. Local vendors will also be available.

The Perry Police Department will provide a courtesy shuttle, beginning at 10 p.m., within city limits to ensure participants get home safely. No personal heaters or outside coolers are allowed.

“The weather is looking favorable for this event! I cannot wait to ring in the New Year in our beautiful downtown Perry! We hope to see you there, ” said Turpin.
