Centerville to host Public Service Light-Up this Saturday
The City of Centerville is hosting a Public Service Light-Up at Center Park on April 13 lasting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CENTERVILLE—The City of Centerville is hosting a Public Service Light-Up at Center Park April 13.
This free event is essentially a Touch-A-Truck. Service, rescue, and utility vehicles will be set out in the park. The public, especially families, are encouraged to come.
“This event is more geared towards kids,” Centerville Director of Economic Development Shannon Bryant said. “The kids can see the vehicles up close, get in them, see how they operate and things of that nature, which is the primary focus of the event.”
The event will also have multiple food trucks and vendors, such as Root 76 Cuisine, Sheerabella Shaved Ice, SnoBiz Warner Robins and Tasty Prayer. . .The Cookie Bar.
The event will also have a DJ and a balloon artist making balloon animals for the kids.
“We are still trying to finalize a few things so we may add a few other activities as well, but for now that is what we know is going on,” Bryant said.
The City of Centerville has not held an event like this in a few years due to the pandemic and the city’s hiring of a new event coordinator. Now, Centerville is finally ready to bring this event back.
“This is something that we wanted to bring back and haven’t had a chance before this year,” she said.
Bryant mentioned some members of the Centerville Police and Fire Department will attend the event.
“Kids can meet those people as well, and for a lot of small kids those are their heroes,” she said.
An event like this is usually well received by the public, especially by children.
“Kids love dump trucks, things that are loud with sirens, police cars and fire trucks,” she said. “It’s a really good way for a family to come out and enjoy a beautiful day in the park.”
The Public Service Light-Up lasts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
