According to an incident report and reporting officer narrative released by the department, a Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to the Bonaire Food Mart last Thursday morning just before 3:30 a.m. regarding an armed robbery.

Tishona Talton, an employee with the store, told the deputy she was outside smoking a cigarette when a suspected male dressed in black with a black hood and black mask came up behind her with a gun.

The masked man told her to get back into the store while grabbing her shirt collar and holding the gun to her rib cage.

He then pushed Talton against a wall and ordered her to open the clerk’s booth and the registers inside. When she was inside the booth, the suspect struck her on the head several times, and she collapsed to the floor.

After the suspect ordered her to open the registers, Talton complied, opening all three. The suspect proceeded to grab the money before leaving the store.

Soon following, EMS arrived and provided first aid to Talton onsite. She declined the offer for transport to a nearby hospital.

A sergeant with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office also arrived, notifying the on-call investigator of the situation and securing the store until more assistance arrived.

After this, a K-9 sergeant with the Warner Robins Police Department joined the responders and made an attempt to track the suspect. They searched outside the store and checked with a trailer park to the west where the K-9 ultimately lost its track.

Further details will be reported as they develop, and you can stay up to date by reading them in The Journal.
