Beatles tribute show coming to Warner Robins thanks to statewide arts grant
The Museum of Aviation Foundation announced last Wednesday the foundation received a Vibrant Communities grant awarded by the Georgia Council for the Arts, according to a press release from the foundation.
The money will be used to sponsor a concert at the Museum of Aviation, featuring “The Return — A Beatles Tribute Show” this coming February.
“The Museum of Aviation Foundation has a long history of providing events for connecting our community with various forms of artistic expressions,” according to Darlene McLendon — president and CEO of the foundation. “Throughout the pandemic, one of the greatest losses has been the ability to attend live musical events.”
The grant was awarded to provide tourism opportunities to cities around the state, said Tina Lilley, the executive director of the Georgia Council for the Arts.
“Arts events supported by Vibrant Communities grants will help jump-start tourism and bring communities together in all parts of Georgia,” Lilley said. “As the effects of a worldwide pandemic are still being felt, we are especially happy to announce this funding to help support the work of our grantees as they reconnect and engage with Georgians of all ages.”
According to the release, funding for the Vibrant Communities grants is provided through appropriations from the state General Assembly. Georgia’s creative industries bring in a reported $62.5 billion, while generating $37 billion in revenue and providing 200,000 state jobs, the release stated.
You can see The Return perform live on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Century of Flight Hangar at the Museum of Aviation.
Tickets are $50 per person, $90 per couple, and dinner is included with the show. Dress in your 1960s – ’70s best and participate in the event’s costume contest. For more information, call (478) 923-6600.
