WARNER ROBINS — An early morning domestic incident turned into a standoff and led to an arrest on Tuesday morning, said the Warner Robins Police Department.

According to a press release, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a home on the 300 block of Athens Street.

There, officers made contact with four victims, aged 53, 48, 37, and five. The victims were able to get away from the suspect, identified as Marquis Williams, 34, and called 911.

With probable cause, officers attempted to arrest Williams, but he barricaded himself inside the house with a firearm.

The police department’s SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiation team responded to the standoff. Williams eventually surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

He was charged with aggravated assault and third-degree cruelty to a child.

Tuesday’s incident is the second domestic violence-turned-barricading shared by the police department this week. The first took place early Sunday morning on Louis Street and escalated to an officer-involved shooting, which the GBI is investigating.
