Sylvia Jean Daniell
Sylvia Jean Daniell (February 26, 1943 – April 17, 2017)
Sylvia Jean Cofield Daniell went home to be with our Lord early Monday morning April 17, 2017. Mrs. Daniell passed away despite the diligent efforts of the staff of the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she herself had worked as a pharmacist for 25 years. Mrs. Daniell was born in Thomaston to Howard and Betty Day Cofield and reared by them in Bonaire, Georgia. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Donald G. Daniell, her children Lisa (Kyle) England of Ringgold and David (Jocelyn) Daniell of Bonaire, her grandchildren Jonah England, Grace England, Isabelle England, Vivian Daniell, and Cora Jean Daniell. She is also survived by her brother Charles Cofield, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved companion dog, Jenny.
Mrs. Daniell was the 1961 Valedictorian of Warner Robins High School. In 1966, she graduated from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy having been inducted into the Rho Chi honor society and Lambda Kappa Sigma.
She worked most her career as a hospital pharmacist and inspired her own daughter to follow in her footsteps. Mrs. Daniell was a voracious reader, a talented painter, and had even been an amateur airplane pilot. She explored widely, crossing the nation several times and visited Scotland as well. She lavished attention on her grandchildren traveling far and wide to see their musicals, marching band, gymnastics and ballet performances. Mrs. Daniell loved Georgia, her nation, and her Lord. Her family will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Byron United Methodist Church. Interment will be private for family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Rooks Funeral Home 109 West White Road in Byron.
The family suggests friends wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to Byron United Methodist Church
