The suspect in the case involving the woman’s body found in

the north part of Houston County Tuesday has been charged with felony murder.

Capt. Jon Holland with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office

said that Brandon Sharod Davis, 30, turned himself into the Houston County

Sheriff’s Office around 9 a.m. Wednesday. He was then turned over to the Macon

Police Department.

The victim has been identified as Chassity LaShundra Lester,

26 of Klondike. Klondike is located at the south part of the county.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Lester’s body was

found in a wooded area just off of Fairgrounds Boulevard.

Holland stated that it appeared that she died at another

location in Macon and was transported to Fairgrounds Boulevard. He said the

investigation has been turned over to the Macon Police Department because the

location where authorities believe the incident happened is within the Macon

Police jurisdiction.

According to the Macon Police Department’s release, the

incident is believed to have happened on Flamingo Drive.

According to Holland, the GBI Crime Lab said Lester died as

a result of “multiple sharp and blunt force trauma.”

The 2006 Ford Fusion that Lester was last seen driving was

recovered in Macon.

Davis is currently being held in the Bibb Law Enforcement

Center without bond. He is also charged with a Superior Court probation

violation.

The Macon Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s

Office, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the

Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted in the investigation.
