Several indicted on theft charges
The indictments handed down through the judicial system of the State of Georgia and County of Houston on February 11 included several wherein the offenders were charged with varied forms of theft, among other crimes.
Johnell Howard, age 37, was indicted with one count of Theft By Taking for an incident that occurred on or about October 24, 2019. Howard was charged with taking a 2015 Kenworth semi-truck, the property of James Bordeaux and in the custody and control of Ronnie Dollar, and with a value of $25,000 or more with the intent to deprive said owner of said property.
Bonnie Denise Proctor, a 53-year-old resident of Centerville was indicted with one count of Theft By Shoplifting. On or about December 5, 2019, Proctor is accused of unlawfully taking possession of and concealing merchandise, the property of Walmart, a retail establishment, with a value of less than $500, with the intent to appropriate said property to her own use without paying said owner for said property. Prior to committing the above-charge offense, Proctor had been convicted of the offense of Theft by Shoplifting in (1) Macon Municipal Court, Bibb County, Georgia on March 10, 1999, (2) Bibb County State Court, Bibb County, Georgia on August 20, 1999, and (3) Bibb County State Court Bibb County, Georgia on March 24, 2000.
Crystal Dionne Mathis, age 42, was indicted with one count of Financial Transaction Card Theft for an incident that occurred on or about September 23, 2019 wherein she is charged with unlawfully taking or obtaining a MidSouth Community Credit Union financial transaction card issued to Dorian Bradford without consent of said cardholder. Additionally, Mathis was indicted on three separate counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud. The accused, on or about September 27, 2019, with the intent to defraud MidSouth Community Credit Union—issuer of a financial transaction card as well as a provider of ATM services at 218 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Warner Robins and 508 Watson Boulevard in Warner Robins and the card holder, Dorian Bradford—did unlawfully obtain U.S. currency by presenting the financial transaction card of Dorian Bradford at the ATMs without the authorization or permission of Dorian Bradford or MidSouth Community Credit Union. Lastly, Mathis, on or about September 28, 2019, with the intent to defraud MidSouth Community Credit Union—issuer of a financial transaction card, as well as the owners of H&R Food Mart and the card holder, Dorian Bradford—did unlawfully obtain goods or services by presenting the financial transaction card of Dorian Bradford at H&R Food Mart without the authorization or permission of Dorian Bradford or MidSouth Community Credit Union.
Ideal, Georgia resident, 27-year-old Desmond Jamal Griffin, was indicted with one count of Theft By Receiving Stolen Property, one count of Possession of Marijuana, Less Than An Ounce, and one count of Obstruction Of An Officer; all for incidents that occurred on or about November 2, 2017. The said accused unlawfully received a stolen firearm (a Mossberg Shotgun) the property of Michael Dodson, which he knew or should have known, was stolen. In addition, Griffin unlawfully possessed less than an ounce of marijuana in violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and he knowingly and willfully obstructed David Houck, a law enforcement officer with the Warner Robins Police Department in the lawful discharge of his official duties by fleeing on foot after officers instructed him to stop.
As a part of the same incidents above involving Griffin that occurred on or about November 2, 2017, Lamario Duane Schofield, age 34, of Oglethorpe, Georgia, was indicted with one count of Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Intent To Distribute and one count of Obstruction Of An Officer. The accused did unlawfully possess, with the intent to distribute, crack cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, in violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Additionally, Schofield did knowingly and willfully obstructed David Houck, a law enforcement officer with the Warner Robins Police Department in the lawful discharge of his official duties by fleeing on foot after officers instructed him to stop.
