In 1989, Van Dempsey and Sam Satterfield met working at Strauther-Harris Jewelers. A friendship sparked and 11 years later, Satterfield and Dempsey Jewelers was established.
Both men are noted professionals who have received their diamond certificates from the Gemological Institute of America and Dempsey continued on to become a graduate gemologist. The business partners share more than 40 years of experience in the jewelry business. This year marks their 14th anniversary of the store.
Not many small local businesses can make it to or past five years. So what is the key to success of staying open? “Excellent customer service and making personal relationships,” says Satterfield.
Quality, luxury, value, service is the set standard for Satterfield and Dempsey Jewelers.
A member of the New York Diamond Dealers Club, Satterfield and Dempsey Jewelers specialize in loose diamonds for engagement rings and offer an on-site jeweler to set diamonds and repair damaged jewelry.
