Perry on list of ‘Safest Cities’
Fresh off placing fifth on Movoto Real Estate’s Top 10 list of “Most Affordable Places in Georgia,” Perry has added another accolade.
It was 23rd on SafeWise Corporation’s 50 Safest Cities. The security entity, according to its website, came up with the list – Centerville is 50th but Warner Robins doesn’t make the list – “after pouring over the most recent FBI crime in the U.S. Report.” It, according to its website, then combined that with research of its own.
Perry is described as a “budding area for economic development and has specifically crafted an environment to support local businesses.”
Perry, according to SafeWise, reported only eight robberies in 2012, “which is an impressive feat for a town of more than 14,000,” reads its website.
“Perry has very involved public safety initiatives, including a crime prevention neighborhood watch, wherein citizens are introduced to the anticipation, recognition, and appraisal of crime risks and the initiation of steps to remove or reduce crime.”
The top 10 are as follows: Auburn, John’s Creek, Milton, Holly Springs, Peachtree City, McRae, Tyrone, Braselton, Jefferson and Kennesaw.
