Peaches to Beaches 2024
One of my family’s favorite traditions has been scheduled for 2024! The official date and time will be March 8-9 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You just never know what kind of weather you get in March in Georgia. We have had years of rain, cold, and wind, sometimes all at once, and some years of beautiful sunshine that gives you a nice sunburn if you are unprepared! The event is considered rain or shine! There are lots of inside or covered vendors if you want to brave the elements.
The sale usually starts around Barnesville and goes down Highway 341 all the way to Brunswick. You will likely need more time and money before you make it too far down the road! Shoppers can also get an official t-shirt to commemorate the event. I still have mine from the very first event. I would love to see our readers’ pictures of them or their buddies at the event.
The organization encourages shoppers to stick to the official vendors that pay to be on the map and get the official signage, but so many sales pop up along the route and just off the route that it is hard not to stop. In fact, many people prefer to shop just off the route for less traffic and over shopped merchandise.
Some of the bigger towns participating are Fort Valley, Perry, Hawkinsville, Helena/McRae Lumber City, Baxley, Jesup and many others. Some vendors have been in their favorite spots for years. Mine is a man in Dodge County that sells chickens! For more information, check out www.peachestothebeaches.com. There is lots of info, as well as vendor applications and contest information, on the site. Happy Collecting!
