My Bar to host bar’s first ‘90s Night this weekend
My Bar in Perry will be hosting their first ever ’90s night on Saturday August 24, starting at 9 p.m.
PERRY—My Bar, located at 2132 Macon Road, will host its first-ever ‘90s Night on Saturday, Aug. 24, starting at 9 p.m.
“My vision for ‘90s Night is to have everyone dressed up like the ‘90s with either the punk rock side, Clueless side, Nirvana side, the country side and whichever ‘90s theme that hits your heart,” Manager of My Bar Taylor Zeigler said. “I just kind of want to throw everybody back, have a good night and reminisce.”
DJ Lightning will play ‘90s hits and take requests from customers.
Zeigler was inspired to put on this event when she was listening to ‘90s R&B with a few of My Bar’s regulars.
“I was like, y’all I remember my first job which was at Olympia Skating Rink in the ‘90s, and Britney Spears and TLC were big back then and I just remember those days,” she said. “I asked them, ‘what would it be to have a ‘90s night and to have a complete throwback?’ and they all just seemed to be down for it.”
This will be the first ‘90s night that My Bar will be hosting and Zeigler hopes this event can be a regular thing.
“I’m hoping to have it maybe every six months or so as you don’t want to burn them out on it.” “I’m hoping so because I love the ‘90s; I’m an ‘80s baby but was raised in the ‘90s.”

Zeigler thinks a ‘90s night will resonate with everybody. She said My Bar’s customers are very diverse.
“I think [‘90s Night] will be a hit with everybody,” she said. “I just hope everyone has a blast with it as that’s what it’s supposed to be for, bringing everybody together.”
‘90s Night at My Bar will also have a best-dressed contest.
“I will probably pick about five or six of our regulars or even our bartenders who will be on shift that night and say ‘who reminds you most of the ‘90s’,” she said. “We will probably give away a gift certificate or even a MyBar shirt or koozie or something like that.”
Zeigler hopes everyone comes out for ‘90s night and says My Bar is the best bar.
“I’m partial as I love My Bar and it’s everybody’s bar,” she said. “We take everybody here; we love everybody here, and we just try to make it everybody’s bar. I am just hoping to see everybody in their ‘90s attire, see the throwbacks, memories and hopefully it’s going to be great.”
