Mrs. Mary E. Spooner Phillips

Mrs. Mary E. Spooner Phillips, age 84, of Hoschton, Georgia died January 14, 2013. A native of Decatur County, Georgia she was a daughter of the late James and Sadie Mitchell Spooner. Mrs. Phillips was preceded by her husband, Winfred Gerald Phillips, Sr. She was a member of Bethabra Baptist Church and was a retired elementary school teacher with the Atlanta Board of Education.

Surviving are Children, Winfred G. “Jerry” Phillips, Jr. of Hoschton, Lola Phillips Frost of Warner Robins, and David M. Phillips of Hoschton, Seven Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 2:00 P. M. from the Bethabra Baptist Church with Dr. Austin L. Phillips and Rev. Landon Frymire officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 1:00 P. M. Interment will be in the Hoschton City Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, P. O.
