Michael Earley receives 25 years

Michael David Earley, age 45, of Warner Robins, entered a guilty plea to one count of Aggravated Child Molestation and was sentenced Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in the Houston County Superior Court by Judge G.E. (Bo) Adams to twenty-five years to serve in the Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole. Upon release from prison, Earley will serve the remainder of his life on probation as a registered sex offender. A jury had been picked and empaneled on Monday, March 21, to hear Earley’s case. His guilty plea came moments before the trial was scheduled to begin with opening statements.

The charges in the casestem from acts of oral sodomy committed by Earley in Warner Robins, Georgia, in 2013 upon a preteen child. Sgt. Kevin Harper of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Division served as lead investigator on the case, which was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Eric Z. Edwards and Senior Assistant District Attorney T. Clifton Woody, II, of the Houston County District Attorney’s Office.

Cheif Assistant District Attorney Edwards commented, “Today’s sentence appropriately reflects the seriousness of the charges at issue here. Sexual assault crimes, especially those that prey upon young children, have no place in our society, and neither do the criminals that commit them. We are very pleased that this sentence removes Michael Earley from our community for a long time, and prevents him from targeting Houston County’s young people.”

Acting District Attorney William Kendall commented, “The District Attorney’s Office is committed to prosecuting offenses in this community that target the most vulnerable members of our society, especially children. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office did an outstanding job of conducting a thorough and timely investigation into this case, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Sheriff’s Office’s Juvenile Investigations Division and Sgt. Kevin Harper for their continued commitment to the children of Houston County.”
