Man captured in Houston County crime spree, two other suspects still at-large
According to a joint media release from the Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), a joint operation by the Houston County District Attorney’s Office, the HCSO, the WRPD and the FBI led to the arrest of 30-year-old Victor Casey Dennard in the 2600 block of Watson Boulevard around 6:15 p.m. Monday.
WRPD Chief John Wagner said Dennard was apprehended as a result of several violent crimes committed in the county, and FBI and WRPD were already investigating the Nov. 22, 2021 robbery and shooting at Robins Financial Credit Union on North Houston Road.
“When we started seeing there was a link with the sheriff’s office, all three of us worked hand-in-hand together exchanging information and details on what each of us had involving the cases and how they were linked and what the plan was to arrest Mr. Dennard,” Wagner said.
The press release stated Dennard is currently being held in the Houston County Detention Center without bond and is being charged with the following crimes: Home Invasion, Aggravated Assault and Theft by Taking Motor Vehicle in relation to the Nov. 22, 2021 home invasion at a private residence located in the 100 Block of Imperial Circle; Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime in relation to the November 22, 2021 bank robbery at the North Houston Road location of Robins Financial Credit Union; Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in relation to the Jan. 18, 2022 murder of 43-year-old Renee Dollar, who was killed during an armed robbery at the J&J Dollar Store at the 100 block of Knodishall Drive.
Wagner called Dennard’s case a “thorn in our side” for fellow law enforcement agencies investigating.
“We’ve made an arrest on our bank robbery person, obviously, and one of the ones that was in the homicide, but there’s still two more that are out there that still need to be located,” he said.
Two WRPD detectives were assigned to the cases of the home invasion, car theft and bank robbery that occurred this past November, Wagner said.
Captain Jon Holland with the HCSO said Dennard’s arrest was made as a result of the joint efforts of the FBI, HCSO and WRPD.
“The case is still an active investigation, and we’re continuing to work the case and still work closely with each other as we move forward,” Holland said.
