Lone gunman opens fire on Feagin Mill, injures one

On September 22 at 11:20 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the Dollar General store located at 106 Feagin Mill Road in Warner Robins. The officers were responding to the call of a 53-year-old male who was shot in the leg during a physical altercation with another male, age 42.

The two men were identified as neighbors, and the altercation stemmed from a previous disagreement between them. The male who fired the weapon stayed on scene after the shooting and was later taken to the Law Enforcement Center for interview. The injured male was transported to Atrium Navicent for treatment, where he is currently in stable condition.

“Here we are at another act of senseless violence, allowing guns to take care of our quarrels instead of learning to talk about it or walk away,” said Chief John Wagner of the Warner Robins Police Department. “The lack of conflict resolution is astounding. It’s a simple right or wrong equation. It is wrong to shoot someone needlessly. You can’t police that,” Wagner pointed out. “You have to hope people have enough sense not to do it.”

Charges are pending at this time. At press deadline on Friday morning, no additional arrests or charges had been made. The incident remains a part of a continuing investigation.
