Landmark Realty stays in Downtown Perry with new location

PERRY, Ga. — Moving day is inevitable when you buy a new house. A real estate company usually helps facilitate this, but a local staple had a moving day of its own recently. Landmark Realty recently relocated to 904 Jernigan Street.

The building previously belonged to Davis Oil Company. Madison Holland, Landmark Realty’s Owner and Broker, conducted a meeting with the building owner, and concluded that it would be a great place for Landmark.

“They occupied the building at 904 Jernigan Street for years, many years, and he was looking to lease the building, essentially. And I came to talk to him and thought it would just be a great place for us to grow as a company and move into, but also still be in downtown Perry. So we came and looked at it, and we talked, and we were able to come to an agreement that worked for both parties, and we moved in here a few weeks ago,” Holland said.

Landmark has been in business since 1987 and primarily stayed at it’s previous location at 902 Northside Drive. The old building still had its merits, according to Holland, but growth in the company needed a new building. The new building is 7100 square feet, with a 2500 square-foot warehouse, while the previous building came in at 2800 square feet.

“It was a great place, especially for me, being in the building where Landmark was officially started at and where they remained for so many years. It was definitely bittersweet to change locations. But it really was something that was needed for the growth that we were already having and the growth that we were planning on,” Holland said. “And then even since we moved here, we’ve added multiple agents, really quality agents. And so it didn’t take long to fill up this building as well.”

Once the lease was finalized, Holland said the company began working to renovate and move in, hired a moving crew to bring over heavy objects, and informed clients of their new location. The process finished Oct. 1, as he explained.

“It was certainly a process. It wasn’t something that was able to be done in a day or even a week. It was a probably a two month process to get everything moved over here and get set up to where we can operate as normal,” Holland said.

Staying local and in Perry is something they strive for, Holland mentioned.

“I think it’s really special to for us to be able to find a location that fit for us, that, and also in downtown Perry. It’s where Landmark Realty was started. It’s where we’re going to stay. No matter what happens in the future as far as growth, Perry is always going to be our main focus and we just love being here with the community.

Now looking towards the future, the addition of exceptional agents alongside a solid team is something Holland said would keep Landmark’s tradition alive.

“I’m proud of what Landmark has done for many years and I was excited about coming into this building and excited for what’s to come for the company,” Holland said. “We have a lot of good people. We had a lot of new people at our previous location and even since we’ve been here just a few short weeks, we’ve already added some really great people to the team, that I know is just going to provide some really good services for the citizens of Houston County and people looking to move to Houston County.”

In the near future, Holland said Landmark is hoping to do a ribbon cutting with the Perry Chamber. More information about Landmark Realty can be found at https://www.landmarkperry.com/
