Kim Raymond Runge

Kim Runge was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to Paul and Marilyn Runge and grew up in Mohnton, Pennsylvania. He attended Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University.

His first job was as a Regional Representative for the Boy Scouts. He then began working in the lumber industry through his grandfather. This led Kim to work first in Ramsey, New Jersey with St. Regis Lumber, followed by work in Jacksonville Florida. He next worked for purchasing at Universal in Moultrie, Georgia. This was followed by working for Ranier in Baxley, Georgia for two years, and then Tolleson Lumber at Perry, Georgia in 1996. When Tolleson was sold he worked for Interfor. Finally he was working for Rex in Graceville, Florida.

He met his wife Karen through friends. They were married at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shillington on September 10, 1983.

Kim was a charter member and a past congregation presidents of Christ Lutheran Church and instrumental in the construction of the building of their first church. He was a Scout Master for 5 years with Troop 96 in Perry. His hobbies were fishing and photography. He was an avid reader. He was involved with fencing, even since his days in college.

Kim and Karen were blessed with two children. Daughter Kristen lives in Chino Hills, California. Son Johnathon lives in Perry.

Kim was preceded in death by his father, Paul Runge, as well as his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Runge, and Raymond and Mae Focht.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn, and brothers, Jeff and Michael and his nephews, Addison and Brian.

Kim went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

There will be a Memorial celebration of Kim’s entrance into heaven on Saturday, September 18 at 11 am. at Christ Lutheran Church, 208 Langston Road in Perry, Georgia.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Boy Scouts of America.
