Funeral services for John Howard Peyton, Jr., 83, of Cochran, who died October 22, 2013, at Pine Pointe Hospice, Macon, GA, was held Thursday, October 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m., in Limestone Baptist Church. Burial was in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Peyton was born in Houston County, son of the late John H. Peyton, Sr. and Beatrice McElmurray. He was a graduate of Perry High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War serving aboard the USS Brush. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Limestone Baptist Church and the Rewards Sunday School Class.

Survivors are: wife, Patricia D. Peyton of Cochran; son, John Howard Peyton III of Hawkinsville; stepchildren, Terry O. Daniel of Cochran, Tia D. (Kenneth) Higby of Lander, WY, Brenda Davis of Hawkinsville, Elizabeth (Ammon) Field of Hawkinsville, Gwen (Isaac) Brown of Warner Robins and Larry (Alice) Parker of Hawkinsville; 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; brother, Mack (Louise) Peyton of Perry; sisters, Peggy Joiner of Lawrenceville and Shelby Lane of Cherokee County, GA.

Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
