Huey Magoo’s opens 75th location in Perry
Popular chicken tender restaurant, Huey Magoos expanded and opened their 75th location in Perry.

PERRY — Huey Magoo’s, a popular chicken tender restaurant, has recently expanded and opened the 75th location in Perry. Located on 1504 Sam Nunn Blvd., Huey Magoo’s in Houston County is franchised by Danny and Trinette Rosales. They are open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Huey Magoo’s is a chicken tender concept where you can get them hand-breaded or grilled. You can get them tossed, in a salad, in a sandwich or in a wrap,” Danny Rosales said.
Danny and Trinette Rosales also franchised the Jersey Mike’s right next door and got inspiration for franchising Huey Magoo’s when opening a Jersey Mike’s in Loganville, Georgia.
“This new place opened up down the street that I’ve never heard of and was going to feed the staff. Staff loved it, I loved it, went back and loved it again,” he said. “I brought a bunch of my friends up there, they loved it and were saying you got to open up one of these where we’re at.”
Rosales said he made a phone call, and the phone call went really well. After signing franchise disclosure documents, a Huey Magoo’s was born on Lake Joy Road in Warner Robins.
Along with the different ways you can order your chicken tenders, Rosales mentioned their sides: fries, chips made in-house, coleslaw and for dessert, banana pudding.
“It’s a simple menu, but we’re very good at what we do,” he said.
One aspect Rosales pointed out that sets them apart from other chicken joints around town is that they use the true tenderloin of the chicken. He said other places do not.
“When you bite into the chicken, it is normally moist and tender. A lot of other concepts and brands use other parts of the chicken,” he said.
Rosales also thinks the look of the building and their team sets them apart from others as well.
“I think we have a great team and great staff. We’re always learning as we’re still young and new brand, but as we grow, we’re going to learn different things,” he said. “There’s a lot of chicken out there and there’s more coming. What makes us different is the quality of our product and our staff.”

Rosales is thrilled to have a new Huey Magoo’s location in Perry. He said their corporate office resides in Perry as well.
“I enjoy the community and I’ve gotten to know a lot of people,” he said. “It’s a thriving, growing community and [Perry] has been really good to us. It’s a great place to live and it’s not a hidden secret anymore.”
According to Rosales, business has gone quite well so far at their new location, despite the weather hindering some of the business during their opening weekend.
“We’ve had phenomenal lunches, and I think it is going to get busier and busier,” he said. “I think once people realize that we’re open and off the interstate, we’re going to bring some of that traffic. We’re really excited about it and it was a really good opening.”
Rosales shared that they had always liked the market of Perry and thought opening a location here would do well. Franchising the Jersey Mike’s next door only made their decision easier.
“We’ve spent a lot of money and a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it, but [the inside] came out beautiful,” he said. “I think it is going to be a complement to the community.”
Rosales hopes the new location will bring more visibility for Huey Magoo’s.
“I’m looking forward to being in Perry for the long term, and hopefully, everybody will at least give us a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed,” he said.
