Houston Healthcare Celebrates Inaugural Residency Commencement
Houston Healthcare celebrated the inaugural graduating class of Resident Physicians with a commencement ceremony and reception on Friday, June 27th. Graduating Resident Physicians include Chief Resident Jovan Adams, DO; Samuel Kolleh, DO; Sean Nelson, DO; and Oludare Ogunsola, DO.
As part of the inaugural class, these residents were instrumental in developing an effective and cohesive program for future classes. “Residency training is a critical time in physician growth where the medical school graduate really begins to understand the art of caring for patients,” stated Dr. Gretta Gross, Director of the Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program. “Our graduates have demonstrated the ability to provide compassionate care that looks at the patient as a whole, not simply a sum of their diseases. We are extremely proud of our inaugural graduating class and know they will continue to be outstanding physicians.”
Upon completion of their residency training, each will enter into various practice opportunities. Dr. Adams is pursuing medical education opportunities; Dr. Kolleh is practicing hospital medicine in North Carolina; Dr. Nelson will be stationed with the 78th Medical Group at Robins Air Force Base, and Dr. Ogunsola has accepted a Sports Medicine Fellowship in Florida. We wish them great success throughout their careers.
The Houston Healthcare System would like to thank them not only for their service to the program, but more importantly, for the service they have provided to our patients and the community.
