Get Ready to Go Red for Women…National Wear Red Day is Friday, February 1st!

One day a year, what you wear speaks volumes. On Friday, February 1st, Houston Healthcare will join the American Heart Association (AHA)’s fight against heart disease by participating in National Wear Red Day. As part of the AHA’s national Go Red for Women campaign, we encourage everyone to wear Red on that day to help the AHA raise women’s awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk.
 
Most of the time selecting clothing isn’t that critical, but on National Wear Red Day, it’s vitally important. That’s because wearing Red on Friday, February 1st makes a statement about the number one killer of American women: cardiovascular disease—the cause of one in every three female deaths.
 
Heart disease does not discriminate; it affects women from all age groups, ethnicities, family histories and walks of life. By wearing Red, we can bring a voice to this silent killer. We can listen to what our hearts are telling us, talk to our doctors and spread the word to our family, friends and community about making the right choices and taking action.

 

Houston Healthcare is proud to be joining the AHA and concerned companies and organizations across America in the fight against heart disease. National Wear Red Day is a chance for us to arm ourselves with knowledge about this devastating disease.
