Edward Dow Mason, 99 years, 8 months died at Autumn Terrace in Perry, GA Saturday, August 27, 2016.

Edward was the son of Thomas Dovert Mason, Sr. and Edna Hodges Mason of Perry. He was educated in Perry public schools and attended Georgia Tech. During World War II he was an architectural engineer with the government and continued in that capacity afterwards at Warner Robins Air Force Base until his retirement after 45 years of service.

Edward was predeceased by wife Helen Meadows Mason and Alma Willet Mason, his brother Thomas Dovert Mason, Jr. and sister in law Virginia Gray Mason. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Mason Bloodworth (Dr. James, Sr.), grandson Dr. James Bloodworth, Jr. (Dr. Elizabeth Bloodworth), daughter Tracey Bloodworth Garner (John Garner), 1 great granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Bloodworth, and 4 great grandsons, James Romey Bloodworth, III, Benjamin Foster Bloodworth, Joshua Braedon Garner and Jonathan Andrew Garner, one brother, Courtney Hodges Mason, nephews, niece and many great nieces and nephews. Edward was the nephew of General Courtney Hicks Hodges.

Edward donated his body to research at the Medical College of Georgia. In lieu of a service Edward requested that family and friends lift their hearts in praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of life and for the loving mercy and grace of Jesus Christ.
