Demons pound hard in heat

The Warner Robins Demons hit the practice field today, preparing for another grueling season of High School football. Mike Chastain is leading the Demons this year as Head Coach and he has a host of other good coaches at his side. The Demons look promising this year with a new coaching staff and a new attitude from the players. Christian Armstrong, a defensive tackle for the Demons said. “We are going to be a team to watch out for this year. I believe once they hired this coaching staff, it created a new age of Demons for this year and years to come. I think it’s a completely different team from last year and we have a harder work ethic and a higher sense of urgency.”

Tramontez Raybon is itching to hit the field this year because he sat out most of 2015 due to an injured wrist. Raybon, a senior right tackle said, “I think it’s going to be a great season with the new coaching staff. They are pushing our limits and making us better. I believe this hard work and motivation by the coaching staff will translate into wins for us on Friday night.”

Another force to be reckoned with on this new Demons’ squad is the skills of one Michael Bradley. Bradley a senior, will be on the field for the Demons for most of the game as he plays both sides of the ball. Bradley will play wide receiver, cornerback, and kick return man. “You may even see me in at quarterback from time to time, Bradley said.

Bradley was a beast last year on defense as he was able to secure two interceptions and one forced fumble and 25 plus pass deflections. On offense Bradley wasn’t bad either, with one touchdown reception and one rushing touchdown. Not only did Bradley contribute on offense and defense he stepped up on special teams as well. Bradley returned two kicks for touchdowns and averaged 33 yards per return. When asked about his personal goals for the upcoming year Bradley said, “My biggest goal this year is being the best leader I can be for the team. Hopefully I can use all my experience from my three years on varsity to help out the young players. I believe that is every player and every coaches goal for our team.”

Leading the Demons on offense this year will be offensive coordinator Bob Davis. Davis brings a ton of experience to the table having been in the coaching business since 1987. From 1985-1987 Davis was the Graduate Assistant at the University of Georgia. From there he moved on to Hephzibah High School, working as the offensive coordinator for the Rebels.

He spent two years at Rutland as Head Coach before returning to Warner Robins in 2005.

On the defensive side of things, Warner Robins has the skill sets of assistant coach Antonio Talton. Talton a graduate of Warner Robins and a former football player knows what it takes to have a winning season. Talton played offensive guard on the Regions Champion team for the Demons in “91”, “92”, and “93”. There is knowledge of the game from a playbook stand point of view but there is nothing like the first hand experience of having played the game in the trenches.
