The Bonaire Middle School Future Farmers of America junior

horse judging team won second place in the State FFA Horse Judging Career

Development Event. The event was held at Fort Valley State University in

February.

Team members are Gavin Wright, Brittany Green, Rachel Israel

and Maguire Yoh. Maguire also won sixth high individual in the state out of 108

students competing. Cheralyn Keily is their FFA advisor.

The Horse Judging Career Development Event advances the

knowledge of agricultural education students about the selection and management

of horses. Participants in the event judge classes of horses, give oral reasons

for class placings and take a written examination. This year 31 teams made up

of sixth – ninth grade students competed.
