WARNER ROBINS — Warner Robins Police are investigating after a domestic violence incident left a man dead Saturday night.
According to a press release, on Nov 1, at 11:22 p.m., police responded to an apartment on the 900 block of Corder Road.
Police responded to a 26-year old male with a serious bleeding wound. Officers found him on scene and Emory EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
An involved party, a female in a relationship with the victim, was on scene and cooperating with authorities.
The Criminal Investigations Division is working the case as a domestic violence related death.
In a statement, Houston County Coroner James Williams called the incident a stabbing and a homicide, the county’s 17th of the year. 14 have been tied to family violence or domestic violence, and several have claimed multiple victims.
“Our county — including all local law enforcement agencies, the District Attorney’s Office, community organizations, and our office — has been proactive in raising awareness about domestic violence. We continue to encourage the community to report any signs or concerns they may have related to domestic violence.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all victims who have lost their lives to domestic violence. We will continue to host and support events aimed at preventing these senseless tragedies from occurring in our community,” Williams said.
The victims identity is currently not being released. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab.
