Holy Pie! Pizzeria opens new location in Perry
Holy Pie! Pizzeria has recently opened its doors in the City of Perry. It is located on 1818 Houston Lake Road.

PERRY — Another pizza restaurant has graced the City of Perry’s presence as Holy Pie! Pizzeria opened its doors.
The restaurant officially opened on Oct. 1 and is located at 1818 Houston Lake Road. They are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
Holy Pie! owner and operator Jake Watson said he and his wife Penny, opened their first restaurant in October 2022 in Roberta, a franchise of Holy Pie! Pizzeria in Savannah. They opened a second location in Macon in September 2023, located off Houston Road.
“We started up in Roberta and have really been blessed so far,” Watson said. “We are excited to continue to grow.”
Watson said Holy Pie! Pizzeria is not only about good quality pizza but also about being involved in the community and impacting the lives of those they employ.
The menu, of course, consists of pizza and some specialty pizzas. The menu also has a wide variety of calzones, stromboli, salads, sandwiches and wraps. Watson mentioned they are also known for sweet treats, which feature chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls and cheesecake stromboli.
Watson said all of their products are made in-house. Their dough is from scratch and they prepare fresh vegetables for the pizza toppings.
Watson has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. About to retire, Watson still had a desire to serve.
“Our desire to make an impact and influence young people kinda outweighed the desire of being retired,” he said.
Watson’s desire for the business was not to expand, but rather to serve. He said wherever the good Lord takes them, that is where they would go.
“The landlord called us and told us about the site. He offered it, we came down to look at it, prayed about and now here we are,” he said. “This will be a good site for many years to come.”
According to Watson, business has been great so far, but they haven’t really done much to promote the new location. Watson said that it might have been a blessing in disguise.
“Our focus is to make sure we get it right the first time, so by not having a lot of business, that has actually been beneficial for us,” he said. “I think also opening on fair week is another blessing as we’re not smart enough to coordinate something like that. The good Lord wanted us to open on October 1, in the middle of fair week so here we are.”
Watson said they are more interested in making a positive impact not only on their staff but also on the community.
“We want to be involved in the youth activities, youth sports, youth groups in churches or just however we can make a positive impact. [I think that] is what really sets us apart,” he said.
For those craving pizza anytime soon, Watson said they have the freshest in town.
“Our pizza is made to order and made from scratch,” he said. “Our goal is for people to come in and exclaim ‘Holy Pie! That’s good pizza’”.
