Downtown Perry wine tasting brings something different to the City of Perry

PERRY — Lovers of wine and wine connoisseurs will be pleased to hear Downtown Perry will be hosting their annual wine-tasting event Friday, April 18, from 5-8:30 p.m. The yearly event is hosted by the Main Street Advisory Board. 

Communications Director for the City of Perry Tabitha Clark said they only have General Admission tickets left available. These tickets will cost $50 and will include 20 wine samples while exploring downtown. 

“People will check in with their [mobile] tickets and they will go to the City Hall lawn to register and sign in there. They will then receive a lanyard and a small tasting cup,” she said. 

Live music will also be around downtown for participants to enjoy. 

“All of this money goes toward the Main Street Advisory Board for their efforts on beautification or any projects by the Main Street Advisory Board,” she said. “The great thing about this is that if tickets end up selling out, others [downtown] can still enjoy the live music, shops and restaurants, but they won’t be able to participate in the wine tasting.” 

Clark shared the event is very popular and sells out nearly every year; she predicts this will likely be the case this year. 

“It is absolutely a wonderful thing to experience as it’s not like your typical event because we only sell a certain number of tickets,” she said. “It’s a more intimate atmosphere and definitely a change of pace from our normal events.” 

Clark described this upcoming wine tasting as a nice relaxing atmosphere, and most importantly, a one-of-a-kind event.
