After losing their first region game in nearly three years on Tuesday against Coffee, the Lady Bears won game one of the doubleheader on Thursday 8-3, but lost the series in game two 7-3.

HoCo’s offense bounced back from a four-hit performance on Tuesday in game one on Thursday with 15 hits. Ansleigh Darby was 4-of-4, all of her hits were doubles, and Ann Marie DeFore was 3-of-4.

The Lady Bears drop to 9-5 and 4-2 in the region.

Northside

The Lady Eagles remained winless in region play as they were swept by Lee County last week. The offense kept up for a little while in Tuesday’s 19-6 loss, but they only managed one run in Thursday’s doubleheader losing 13-1 and 14-0. They also lost at Perry on Monday, 17-2.

They drop to 2-13 and 0-6 in the region.

Perry

Perry continued their winning streak last week and secured their first win in region play 10-2 when they travelled to Ware County on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers were 11-of-26 at the plate, with doubles from Avery Grant, Mackenzie Crumley and Rachel Harrell.

They also won their non-region contests at home against Northside on Monday 17-2, and at Lee County on Wednesday, 7-4.

They improved to 8-4 and 1-0 in the region.

Veterans

The Lady Warhawks made things interesting in the Region 2-5A standings with their series win against Thomas County Central this week. The Lady Yellow Jackets sat at the top of the standings before Veterans handed them losses on Tuesday (4-2) and game one Thursday in nine innings (7-6).

With the Lady Warhawks’ loss in game two (8-2), though, it created a wide open race for the top spot in the region. Veterans, Houston County and Thomas County Central each sit at 4-2 in the standings, and the Lady Bears have yet to play either team.

Veterans has had a phenomenal start to the year at 11-2, and a region once run by HoCo is now wide open with Coffee giving a loss to both teams.

Warner Robins

The Demonettes’ offense has only scored one run in their last five games, and has allowed 49 in that same span. Wednesday at home against Johnson County they lost 15-1, and their first region doubleheader at Wayne County on Thursday they lost 15-0 and 19-0.

Westfield

The Lady Hornets still have a couple of weeks before they start region play, but they split their games this week against Bleckley County and Tattnall Square Academy.

TSA had a strong first three innings, scoring 10 of their runs. Westfield chipped away and made it 10-8 TSA to end the top of the sixth, but the Lady Trojans put the game away with three runs to improve to 13-1.

The Lady Hornets are 7-4.
