Striking quick in the first inning, Lee County knocked an inside-the-park home run down the right foul line to go up 3-0.

Brynli and Madi Burch for the Lady Eagles answered the Lady Trojans with back-to-back doubles to the center field wall.

Kadence Cooley knocked an RBI single to shallow center, bringing the score to 3-2.

The Northside defense showed signs of slowing down as Lee County added three runs to their total in the second inning.

Alana Ingram singled in the second inning and stole third base after advancing to second on a groundout to shortstop.

Ayanna Washington drew a walk to put runners on the corners, then Brynli Burch crushed a two-RBI single to center to bring the score to 6-4.

Spreading a barrage of hits to the outfield, the Lady Trojans broke down the Lady Eagles’ defense in the fourth inning.

Northside could not withstand the explosive onslaught, losing the ball in the sun and dropping the ball on multiple occasions.

Lee County’s offensive attack ended on a groundout to third base.

Ingram and Madison Vias both drew walks to start a Northside comeback. Washington hit an infield single to load the bases.

An upheld base-runner interference call led to a heated discussion between the Lee County dugout and the umpires.

The Lady Eagles slapped two infield singles and drove in their final two runs before their comeback bid ended on a strikeout.

Cooley tossed five strikeouts with two walks as she kept her composure amidst the defensive breakdown.

Brynli Burch finished the shortened contest going 3-3, with two singles, a double, and three RBIs.

Northside head coach Travis Spell shared his thoughts on the game:

“We played [Lee County] closely for most of the game. The girls strung along some hits each inning and made some plays. We just tapered off and could not figure it out.”

“Our pitcher did a good job of making them earn everything. Unfortunately, we could not provide the run support for her,” Spell added. “We have to be better and make good team plays.”
