Columbus takes home 1st in Georgia Horseshoe Pitchers Association Interleague Championship
PERRY, Ga. — The Sanctioned Interleague Tournament was held in Perry Georgia on Sept. 9, 2023, and there were six leagues pitching for the number one spot.
The team from Columbus (Matt Braswell, George Schmidt, and Willie T Hunter) was unstoppable with a 14.5-.5 record.
They won the 1st place trophy, 1st place patches, and the big trophy to display for one year, as well as the right to host the tournament next year.
Brunswick’s Club (Marshall Little, Frank Harris, and Ron Cloutier) won 2nd place trophies with a 9.5-5.5 record.
The host team from Perry (Larry Myers, Royce Byrd, and James Rozier) took home 3rd place.
Marietta Club (Larry Davis, Jim McEleveen, and Larry Munn) took 4th place.
The Hull Club ( Jerry Wingfield, Trace Mason, David Coile) took 5th place with a 4.5-10.5 record.
Cordele Club (Marcus Waters, Dennis Lanning, and Jean Bullington) secured friends and 6th place with a 3.5-11.5 record.
