WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — On Saturday night, an argument that had turned physical led to a shooting at Breckenridge Mobile Home Park.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, at around 7:30 p.m. on May 7, department personnel responded to a residence at 95 Shannon Ridge Drive.

A 38-year-old male victim was killed at his home. The victim has been identified as Octavius Jackson of Warner Robins.

The suspect involved was arrested Monday evening and taken to the Houston County Detention Facility after initial processing. He has been identified as 26-year-old Braley Traveon Hollis of Warner Robins. Hollis has been charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault in relation to the incident.

According to the police department, Hollis and Jackson knew each other. Since the suspects were acquainted, the police department believes this incident was not a random act of violence.

According to early investigations, Jackson was heard on the phone arguing with Hollis about a firearm. Once the argument turned physical, the call was dropped. The caller went to check on Jackson, finding him dead with a gunshot wound.

Police Chief John Wagner said at first, the case did not have too much information that led to the arrest. With a two-day turnaround time, it took a bit of detective work from the detective, forensics and patrol units to bring an arrest to fruition.

“It’s a team effort, definitely, and they all worked very hard together,” Wagner said. “They do a good job and take it very serious. They want their town to be safe, and certainly don’t want a homicide hanging unsolved.”

Wagner explained the process involved in this investigation.

“We were able to develop a suspect,” Wagner said. “We used our contacts within the community who knew what was going on in their neighborhood — speaking with them and what they saw. We researched video [evidence] in the area, did more interviews and then we came up on [the suspect].”

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with more information is encouraged to call Detective Scott Nix at (478) 302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
