Reward increases for capture of eluding bank robber, shooter
The FBI’s Atlanta Field Office released an announcement on Monday, January 3 that it is increasing the reward that is being offered for the identity of an armed robbery suspect who has eluded authorities since November 2021.
It was on the morning of November 22 that the yet unidentified suspect entered Robins Financial Credit Union on North Houston Road in Warner Robins brandishing a firearm and demanding money from the workers. During the incident, one of tellers was shot and wounded by the pistol being held by the perpetrator.
Despite a search of the area and an ongoing investigation, the suspect, who is believed to have entered a home on West Imperial Circle with a pistol and stolen the residents’ vehicle just minutes before the robbery, has managed to escape capture. The stolen vehicle, a silver Nissan Sentra, was later found at an apartment complex on Northlake Drive in Warner Robins where it had been abandoned.
Initially, a $5,000 reward had been offered by the FBI, but after several weeks with no arrest made, the amount has increased. Not only has the FBI raised its reward to $10,000, but also the Warner Robins Police Department is offering an additional $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect that robbed the bank at gunpoint and injured a teller in the process. This brings the total reward offer to $15,000.
The suspect’s image was captured on bank surveillance cameras, and he has been described as being a Black male with a slender build and standing at approximately five feet, five inches tall to five feet, seven inches tall. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, khaki pants, grey shoes and a black mask. Additionally, he was carrying a black and grey drawstring bag.
According to the release from Chris Hacker, Special Agent in Charge, the FBI is increasing the reward and urging anyone with information about the armed robbery to call the FBI Atlanta/Macon Resident Agency at 478-745-1271 or go to tips.fbi.gov.
