Warhawk soccer remains undefeated

Veterans High’s boys soccer team improved to 9-0-1 and 3-0 in Region 2-AAAA after back-to-back victories against rivals from Macon.
On Tuesday, Matt Roth’s club beat Howard High 2-0 at home. Cody Scarborough scored in the first half when the keeper mishandled the ball, according to Roth. In the second half John Pilcher scored off of an assist by Elijah Milteer.
“Our defense was pretty solid all night,” said Roth
On Wednesday, the Warhawks went to Macon and handled Westside 10-1.
“We had scores from several players,” said Roth. “Non-starters got some valuable time in the second half.”
PERRY
The Perry High boys soccer team defeated Crisp County 10-0 Tuesday at home in non-region play. Daniel Ward scored three goals, Micah Lehenbauer two goals, Nick Hall two goals, and Luke Lineberger, Tay Owens and Jharron Henley each scored one goal.
The Perry High Lady Panthers narrowly avoided a non-region loss to Crisp County. Ivy Johnson scored in the second half after Perry went into the break down 1-0.
LADY BEARS
The Houston County High girls went to 6-0 defeating Luella by a score of 5-0 Wednesday at home. The score was 1-0 at the half. Our record is now 6-0.
Goals were by Lainey Choiniere (assisted by Kaylee Bromell), Jasmine Johnson, Jessica Do (assisted by Rachel Preston), Karissa Engram and Lizzy Upchurch. Brooke Neville in goal had eight saves.
