Walker Insurance named Business of the Month

The Business Development Committee of the Perry Area Chamber

of Commerce recognizes Walker Insurance Agency as its Business of the Month for

March 2013. This award makes them eligible for the Business of the Year Award.

 

During the ceremony, held March 5 at Walker Insurance

Agency, 2013 Chamber Chair Beth McLaughlin presented Larry Walker III and his

staff with the Perry Area Chamber’s award. In attendance were Mayor Jimmy

Faircloth, Councilmen William Jackson and Randall Walker and other Perry area

business leaders, as well as Perry Chamber President and CEO Stacy Campbell. Celebrating

the award with Walker Insurance Agency was Larry’s wife Adrienne, employees

Kellie Bowen and Liza Pierce, and family and friends.

Walker stated during the presentation ceremony “After working for a couple of

years in the corporate offices of The Coca-Cola Company and seven years at

Walker-Rhodes Tractor Co., I started my agency from scratch in April 1996. This

means that my business is 17 years old this month, which is hard for me to

believe. When I started this business, Adrienne and I were expecting our third

child and, believe me, the pressure was on!

“I joined the Perry Area Chamber not long after that and the

support that I have received from Perry Chamber members along with the

networking and promotional opportunities that the Chamber provides has and

continues to be an important component of my success.

“I have two talented employees, Kellie Bowen and Liza

Pierce. I greatly appreciate how well they look after our customers. Walker

Insurance Agency represents numerous top rated insurance companies, which gives

us the flexibility to tailor an insurance program that best fits our customer’s

needs. We are grateful to the support we have received from the Houston

County community, and we are thankful to live and work in such a wonderful

community.”
