Veterans High’s boys basketball team extended a winning

streak to four games over the weekend with two victories at home.

By defeating West Laurens 70-54, the Warhawks evened its

record in Region 2-AAAA to 6-6. Jonathan Robertson and D.J. Rozier each scored

12 points.

Taking on a non-region county rival Saturday, Veterans edged

out the Northside Eagles 74-71. Robertson blistered the nets for 27 points.

The Veterans girls may have suffered a heartbreaking region

loss to West Laurens 56-54 Friday, but the Lady Warhawks recovered Saturday to

topple Northside 55-42. Leading the way was Kya Cochran with 15 points.

Kerregan Poe-Cochran added nine points and five assists. Courtney Palmer also

added nine points and Khayla Owens recorded her first double-double with 11
